This work explores the definition of pattern as a template, from quilt blocks to garment patterns, as decoration, as a repeat action, and as a symbol. The exploration in pattern includes work on paper, paint (watercolor, acrylic, oil, and encaustic), as well as various mixed media approaches. Often, each composition incorporates layering of color, texture, and materials, which include patterned paper, evoking a sense of layered history.
