STITCHED
Stitching is a form of mark-making that not only adds a textural surface but also is a deliberate and slow act of expression. Early work using hand stitching explored microscopic structures while later work completed during the pandemic focused on the concept of a test pattern, an image broadcasted by a television station so that viewers could adjust their receivers. The hand-embroidered compositions explore the illusion of color transparency, iconic structural elements of quilt patterns, and repeat designs.
